It’s June, and Asheville is entering its prime event season. Everyone here is ready to get outside to mix, mingle, and enjoy all the city can offer. Whether you’re a local resident or visiting, there is always something going on to enjoy. While there is never a lack of things to do, having your options narrowed down for weekend happenings is sometimes helpful. Asheville Tourists, April–September
The Asheville Tourists are an affiliate Minor League baseball team of the Houston Astros. Their season began in April, but everyone knows that things really get interesting once summer rolls along! Now that it’s June, the nights are long, and the days are warm. Get out to McCormick Field for a fun time at the ballpark. Fireworks happen regularly, as do jersey giveaways and special-themed evenings. Visit the site for the game schedule and ticket information.

Asheville Art in the Park 2024, June 8, 15, and 22
Artists will gather every Saturday throughout June to sell their wares. The free event, hosted by Muddy Knees Design and Production, takes place in Pack Square Park and includes glass, ceramics, wood, jewelry, and metal creations. This market has occurred for two decades, with events held in June and October. Come out for this day-long event to see beautiful artwork from the area’s skilled creators.

Burial x Eulogy Present: Anno XI
Burial Brewery holds its annual summer music festival at Forestry Camp. The event features an assortment of bands and beverages. Visit the website for tickets.

Downtown After 5, June 21
This monthly spring and summer event, organized by the Asheville Downtown Association, brings Asheville together on North Lexington Avenue. The street is closed from 5 to 9 pm. for a live concert, food trucks, and drinks. Featured artists include local and regional artists, and a different genre of music is chosen each month. In honor of Juneteeth, the Asheville Downtown Association is collaborating with the MLK Foundation to present Sierra Green & the Giants and Lyric.
